Parenting with Logic
Starter Suggestions for Parents of
Toddlers & Preschoolers
There are many resources that I have available for parents but here are my favorites.
Getting Kids to Listen from my Parenting Decoded resources - You Tube Video or Podcast #30: Seminar
In this seminar I explain the different types of parents and some basic skills that are practical and easy to learn that you can get your parenting moving in the right direction.
There are also podcast episodes on my Parenting Decoded Podcast that would be really helpful for parents of toddlers and preschoolers. Here are a few you can find at PARENTING DECODED or on any podcasting site that you already listen to:
Episode 4 - Fun with Food: Toddler to Elementary Edition
Episode 6 - Handling Tantrums
Episode 7 - Nighttime Battles: Toddler to Elementary
Episode 13 - Anger Management for Parents
Episode 19 - Creating Calm with Choices
Episode 20 - Creating Calm with Boundaries
There are many resources on the Love and Logic® website, www.loveandlogic.com, that you can look through but these are my favorites for parents who have very young kids who’d like to get started.
Love and Logic Solutions for Early Childhood audio download
If you just want to try out one thing this is the way to go. It’s funny and fast!
Helicopters, Drill Sergeants and Consultants audio download
If you’d like a second audio that has additional useful information but isn't geared only to toddlers and preschoolers then I’d recommend this one.
Advice
I listen to the audio lessons as I drive in my car, for 5 minutes or 20 minutes at a time, you don't have to listen all at once. When I first started listening, I probably listened to them once every few months for at least 6 months before I even knew there was a class I could go to. If you have the time to do use these before you attend a class, it'll really help get you prepared to be able to get the most out of the class.
